About Mimi Pajo

Mimi turned to Iyengar Yoga when she was struggling to cope with her mother's cancer battle 19 years ago. She was amazed when yoga practice not only helped manage her emotional pain but also her chronic physical affliction with tendonitis and bursitis.

Iyengar Certification

Today, Mimi is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. She is a devoted student of Gloria Goldberg and Brian Hogencamp. In 2014, she graduated from Bija Yoga's 3-year teacher's training program headed by Gloria Goldberg and was under her guidance throughout the Iyengar Yoga certification process. Mimi was certified in 2015.


She had the great honor of studying with Geeta Iyengar in Pune, India for Geeta's 70th birthday in 2014. Geeta, daughter of BKS, revolutionized yoga for women. Mimi looks forward to returning to Pune to continue her studies with the Iyengar family.

Yoga Therapeutics

After seeing the adverse effects of daily life, (just about everyone suffer from lower back, neck, shoulder and wrist pain and they don't know why or how to fix it), Mimi decided to focus on yoga therapeutics. She has assisted weekly classes of senior Iyengar Yoga teachers and has completed a 1 year teachers training in yoga therapeutics. She sees her practice as the antidote to being alive in the 21st century, where we pack too much into our days and mostly ignore our bodies and what they tell us. Her biggest reward is the gratitude and joy she sees on students' faces when they get into a pose they never thought they'd be able to achieve and get the relief they've been searching for.

Mimi loves Iyengar Yoga because it's for everyone. Body type, age and flexibility don't matter. She believes everyone deserves to understand their own body and self completely, to be able to take responsibility, and to no longer live with physical or emotional pain.
